Privacy & Terms

Plain-English versions of our privacy notice and terms of service. Together with the FAQ, this should answer most questions about how NPRR handles your data.

Last updated: 14 May 2026

Who we are

NPRR Ltd (“NPRR”, “we”, “us”) is the operator of the website at nprr.co.uk and the underlying National Pigeon Racing Results platform. NPRR Ltd is a company registered in England (company number pending) with its registered office to be confirmed at incorporation.

For questions about this notice, write to hello@nprr.co.uk.

What data we collect

We collect only what we need to run the platform and to honour your account, in three categories:

Account data

  • Your name and email address
  • The club and Federation you are affiliated with, if any
  • A password, stored in salted, hashed form — never in plain text

Race & pedigree data

  • Race results uploaded by your club secretary, attached to ring numbers
  • Pedigree information you choose to attach to your fancier profile
  • Any marketplace listings or bids you submit

Usage data

  • Basic, anonymised access logs (IP address, browser, page viewed)
  • Errors and crashes, for debugging — never the contents of your messages

How we use it

We use your data only for the purposes that follow:

  • To run your account and let you sign in
  • To publish race results on the public leaderboard, as authorised by your club
  • To attach race performance to ring numbers and produce verified pedigrees
  • To run marketplace listings between verified members
  • To detect fraud, abuse and security incidents
  • To improve the platform — only on aggregated, anonymised metrics

We do not sell your data. We do not run third-party advertising. We do not enrich your data with information bought from data brokers.

How we store it

NPRR runs on UK-hosted infrastructure with encryption at rest and in transit. Production database access is restricted to a small number of named engineers under two-factor authentication. Backups are encrypted, held off-site, and retained for ninety days.

Personal data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, we erase personal identifiers within thirty days. Race results, being public records, remain on the platform under your ring number and not under your name, in line with how the sport handles historic results elsewhere.

Your rights under UK GDPR

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation you have the following rights:

  • Access — to a copy of the data we hold about you
  • Rectification — to have inaccurate data corrected
  • Erasure — to have your personal data deleted, subject to public-record obligations on historic race results
  • Portability — to export your data in a machine-readable format
  • Objection — to object to certain kinds of processing
  • Complaint — to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk

To exercise any of these rights, write to hello@nprr.co.uk. We respond within one calendar month.

Cookies

NPRR uses cookies only where they are strictly necessary or where we have your explicit consent.

Strictly necessary

  • A session cookie to keep you signed in
  • A CSRF token to protect form submissions

Optional, with consent

  • An anonymous analytics cookie used to count distinct visitors. You can decline this from the cookie banner on first visit, and from your account preferences at any time afterwards.

We do not use third-party advertising cookies. We do not use Facebook Pixel, Google Ads tags, or any social re-marketing technology.

Marketplace rules

The NPRR marketplace is governed by a small set of rules designed to protect buyers and sellers.

  • Every listing must reference a valid RPRA ring number, registered to the seller
  • Verified-performance badges are drawn from the public results database; sellers cannot edit them
  • Ring authenticity must be confirmed by both parties before a sale is marked complete on the platform
  • Listings that misrepresent a bird’s performance, parentage or ring may be removed without notice
  • Disputes are reviewed by an NPRR moderator within five working days

Full marketplace terms will be published when the marketplace opens to the public in early 2027.

Terms of service

By using NPRR you agree to use the service for its intended purpose: to publish, view and verify the results of pigeon racing in the United Kingdom. You agree not to scrape the site at volume, not to attempt to access data you are not entitled to, and not to misrepresent your identity or your club.

NPRR is provided on an “as is” basis during the beta period. We aim for 99.9% availability outside of pre-announced maintenance windows. We will not be liable for indirect losses arising from a delayed, missing or amended race result.

Acceptable use

NPRR is a public-record platform, and we expect the same standards of conduct here as in a clubhouse.

  • No abusive, discriminatory or threatening conduct toward other members or staff
  • No publication of personal data — addresses, phone numbers — about other fanciers without their consent
  • No attempts to falsify race results, pedigree records or marketplace listings
  • No mass-automated access to the platform outside the published API quotas

Breaches may lead to suspension or termination of the account. Serious breaches will be reported to the relevant national union.

Contact for data requests

For all data-protection enquiries, write to hello@nprr.co.uk with the subject “Data request”. Please include enough detail for us to verify your identity — at minimum, the email address on the NPRR account.

We respond within one calendar month. If you are unsatisfied with our response, you may complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

If anything in this document is unclear, write to hello@nprr.co.uk and we will explain. We would rather rewrite a page than leave a member confused about their rights.
